Rubenal is a new aid to maintaining normal kidney structure which is important in kidney function and is an issue for dogs and cats with kidney problems. Rubenal contains a palatable formulation derived from the roots and rhizome of 'Rheum officinale' which has been used for thousands of years in eastern medicine for treating kidney complaints. Animals with chronic kidney problems often suffer from scarring and subsequent contraction of the framework of the kidneys which reduces the flow of blood through the kidney and hence their ability to produce urine normally; Rubenal helps by maintaining the normal fibrous architecture of the kidneys.
Until now Rheum officinale's natural bitterness has prevented its use in animals but Rubenal's formulation overcomes this with trials showing 100% spontaneous acceptance by dogs and cats (tablets broken into food for cats).
Dose:
Cat >2kg 1 x Rubenal 75 tablet twice daily.
Dog <3kg 0.5 x Rubenal 75 tablet twice daily.
Dog 3 - 6kg 1 x Rubenal 75 tablet twice daily.
Dog 6 - 11kg 2 x Rubenal 75 tablet twice daily.

Dog 8 - 12kg 0.5 x Rubenal 300 tablet twice daily.
Dog 13 - 25kg 1 x Rubenal 300 tablet twice daily.
Dog 26 - 45kg 2 x Rubenal 300 tablet twice daily.
Dog > 45kg 3 x Rubenal 300 tablet twice daily.
