Lectade SA is a very well established oral rehydration therapy for dogs and cats, recommended and used by vets throughout the UK. It is used primarily to correct the effects of dehydration and loss of electrolytes (the mix of salts the body requires to function normally) following diarrhoea and as an aid in post-operative care where rehydration is required in the recovery period. It provides animals with fluids, electrolytes and a source of readily available energy and is formulated to positively enhance the absorption of fluids by the body through an active process at gut cell-level.
Comes in two-part sachets for mixing with 500ml warm water. Give as follows:
Small dogs - up to 250ml twice a day
Medium dogs - up to 500ml twice a day
Large dogs - 750-1000ml twice a day
Cats - 100ml three times a day.
For puppies and kittens - 25ml per kg of bodyweight.
Use for 3-6 days.
Change solution every 24 hours.
