Lactol is a milk food especially formulated for puppies, kittens and other small animals to resemble the milk they naturally receive. Lactol has been produced for over 100 years, and has saved the lives of many young animals. It is made from easily digested whey products and closely resembles natural mammals' milk. Manufactures using a special low-temperature drying process, the fragile protein structures are preserves, allowing more of the protein in the product can be used by growing animals.
Lactol is recommended for orphaned animals and for puppies and kittens born into large litters when the mother has an inadequate milk supply for all. It is also helpful as a weaning aid and as a nutritional supplement for pregnant animals.
Recommended dilutions to make 600ml (1 pint):
Puppy rate: 7 level scoops
Dog rate: 3 1/2 level scoops
Kitten rate: 5 level scoops
Cat rate: 3 1/2 level scoops
(1 scoop is approximately 16g of Lactol powder.)
