Felimazole is a prescription treatment of feline hyperthyroidism, the most commonly diagnosed endocrine disorder in cats. Feline hyperthyroidism predominantly occurs in the middle-aged to old cat and is a result of the excessive secretion of the active hormones, triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4), from an abnormally functioning thyroid gland.
