Capstar is a tablet treatment which provides a rapid and effective way of removing adult fleas from a cat or a dog.
The active ingredient of Capstar, though safe for mammals, starts to kill fleas within 10-20 minutes of oral administration. Thereafter, fleas are affected as soon as they feed. Fleas may start to fall from the pet within 15 minutes of administration and 100% efficacy is achieved within hours.
In flea allergic animals the speed of kill of the adulticide used can be of particular importance in reducing the number of flea bites the pet receives. However, even more important is reducing exposure to fleas in the first place by preventing infestation of the animal’s home environment. Capstar can be used with the same manufacturer’s product ‘Program’ for an integrated flea control regime.
Where fleas are present in your pet’s environment it is recommended to give Capstar once weekly for 4-6 weeks alongside continuous use of Program.
